How to Play Crescent Solitaire
Learn the rules of Crescent Solitaire
Objective
Two decks. All eight foundations come pre-seeded — four with Aces (building up) and four with Kings (building down). Fill every foundation in the same suit to win.
The Layout
- Top row — 8 foundations seeded at the deal
- Below — 16 tableau piles arranged 2 rows × 8 columns, each with 6 face-up cards
- No stock, no waste — every card is visible from the start
Moving Cards
- Tableau builds same-suit, up or down by one rank — King and Ace connect
- Only the top card of a pile matters; direction may reverse freely
- An emptied pile stays empty for the rest of the game
- Send tableau tops to a matching foundation when ranks line up
Reshuffle
- Three reshuffles allowed per game
- Each reshuffle moves the bottom card of every pile to its top
- Use them to unbury cards you cannot reach by building
Tips & Strategy
- Think twice before emptying a pile — it cannot be refilled
- Save reshuffles for when truly stuck — they are limited
- Foundations win the game; tableau is scaffolding
