How to Play Addiction Solitaire

Learn the rules of Addiction Solitaire

Objective

Arrange every row from left to right as 2 through King in the same suit. Each of the four rows ends in an empty cell.

The Layout

  • 52 cards dealt into a 4 × 13 grid
  • The four Aces are removed at the deal, leaving four gaps
  • No stock, no waste — every card is visible

Filling Gaps

  • A gap takes the card one rank above the cell to its left, same suit
  • A gap at the left edge of a row takes any 2
  • A gap to the right of a King is dead — nothing can fill it
  • A gap with another gap to its left is blocked until that one is filled

Reshuffles

  • Three reshuffles allowed per game
  • Each reshuffle preserves your same-suit ascending-from-2 prefix in every row
  • Other cards are shuffled and dealt into the remaining cells, with a fresh gap immediately after each preserved prefix

Tips & Strategy

  • Building a long same-suit run from the 2 protects that work across reshuffles
  • Watch for dead gaps next to Kings and shuffle through them
  • Use Undo to test branches before committing
