How to Play Addiction Solitaire
Learn the rules of Addiction Solitaire
Objective
Arrange every row from left to right as 2 through King in the same suit. Each of the four rows ends in an empty cell.
The Layout
- 52 cards dealt into a 4 × 13 grid
- The four Aces are removed at the deal, leaving four gaps
- No stock, no waste — every card is visible
Filling Gaps
- A gap takes the card one rank above the cell to its left, same suit
- A gap at the left edge of a row takes any 2
- A gap to the right of a King is dead — nothing can fill it
- A gap with another gap to its left is blocked until that one is filled
Reshuffles
- Three reshuffles allowed per game
- Each reshuffle preserves your same-suit ascending-from-2 prefix in every row
- Other cards are shuffled and dealt into the remaining cells, with a fresh gap immediately after each preserved prefix
Tips & Strategy
- Building a long same-suit run from the 2 protects that work across reshuffles
- Watch for dead gaps next to Kings and shuffle through them
- Use Undo to test branches before committing
