Canfield Solitaire

Objective

Move all 52 cards to four foundations that build up in the same suit, wrapping past King back to Ace. Drain the 13-card reserve to win.

The Layout

• Reserve — 13 cards stacked; only the top is playable
• Four short tableau columns of 1 card each
• Four foundations — all start at the rank of the dealer-seeded card and build up with suit, wrapping through K → A
• Stock & waste — draw 3 cards at a time; recycle the waste back into the stock as often as you need

Moving Cards

• Tableau builds descending in alternating colors
• Move single cards or whole tableau columns
• An emptied tableau column is automatically refilled from the reserve top
• Send reserve, waste, or tableau tops to the foundation when ranks line up

Tips & Strategy

• Always prefer reserve moves — emptying the reserve is the main lever
• Recycles are unlimited, but the draw-3 order stays fixed — track which cards surface together
• Build long tableau runs so they can be unloaded onto foundations later
• Use Undo to test alternative orderings
